File manager policy
Privacy Policy for Filemanager
Effective date: October 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Filemanager (the “App”) handles information when you use its file management features. For privacy questions, contact hoo309@gmail.com.
1. No Collection of User Data
Filemanager does not collect, store on developer-controlled servers, sell, or share personal or sensitive user data. You do not need to create an account or provide personal information to use the App.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, advertising identifiers, device identifiers, IP address, browsing history, usage analytics, or crash reports through the App. We do not collect the contents of your files, photos, videos, audio recordings, or documents.
2. Local Access to Files
The App processes files on your device to carry out file management actions that you request. Accessing files locally does not mean that those files are collected by us. File contents and file information remain on your device and are not automatically uploaded or transmitted to us.
If you choose to share a file using another app, the selected file is passed to the app or recipient you choose. That action is initiated by you, and the receiving service handles the file under its own privacy practices.
3. Permissions
Depending on your Android version and the features you use, Filemanager may request access to files, folders, or media. On Android versions where broad storage access is requested, this access is used only to provide the App’s core file management functions.
Permissions do not authorize us to collect your files or send them to our servers. You can deny or revoke permissions in Android Settings. Some features may not work without the relevant access.
4. Advertising, Analytics, and Third-Party SDKs
The App does not use advertising, analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs that collect or transmit user data. We do not use your information for personalized advertising or cross-app tracking.
Android, Google Play, and any external apps or services you independently choose to use operate under their own privacy policies. This policy describes Filemanager and does not govern those independent services.
5. Data Storage and Deletion
Because we do not collect user data through the App, we do not maintain a server-side user database or retain copies of your files. Any settings saved by the App are stored locally on your device. You can remove local App settings by clearing the App’s data or uninstalling it, subject to your device’s backup and restore settings.
Uninstalling the App does not necessarily delete files stored in shared device storage. Manage those files through your device’s storage controls. Files you delete or modify through the App may be permanently changed; keep backups of important files.
6. Contacting Support
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you voluntarily include. We use that information only to respond to your request and resolve the issue. Support correspondence is separate from data handling inside the App. Do not send sensitive files or information unless needed for your request. You may request deletion of support correspondence by emailing us; we will delete it unless retention is required by law.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children or other users. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through support, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
8. Security
Local processing limits the transfer of file information outside your device. Keep your device protected, review permissions, and install updates. No device or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
9. Scope of This Policy
This policy applies to the Filemanager App. The website hosting this policy may use cookies or process visitor information under its hosting provider’s policies; that activity is separate from the App.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the App’s features or data practices change. Any revised policy will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
